For sale. A great looking, salty and well used army helmet. I suspect this is not a paratrooper helmet although the chinstrap would suggest otherwise. This is likely a West German M62, but I can’t be totally sure. The shell is basically intact. The liner is extremely worn, the leather has been oiled without removing the original patina and is extremely similar to WW2 German helmets. Original to the helmet and preserved as much as possibe. The 3 point chinstrap and buckles are intact, with the expected staining, corrosion and rust for a helmet of this age. Size is stamped 57-61 so a medium to large type I suspect. There is a stamp on the brim but I can’t make it out and will not be stripping it apart. Great for a historic/ military display or collector. Perhaps will need replacement parts if you plan to run around/ re-enact/ airsoft/cosplay etc. M71 Bundeswehr Paratrooper helmets are plentiful… these ones, not so much. Enjoy. 😊
