First edition, first printing hardcover copy of The Buddha & His Teaching by Ernest K. Shinkaku Hunt (Aoyama Shoin, 1962). Rare first edition, printed in Japan (in English). With illustrations throughout, including several full color large fold-out images. Decorative endpapers, gilt accents to front cover and spine, attached tassel ribbon bookmark with frayed end. Mild rubbing/blemishes to boards from handling and general wear. Corners bumped and with a a few instances of small tears around edges. A few instances of mildly split binding but spine is straight and binding remains fairly strong on the whole. Previous owner’s inscription on front endpaper and a few sparse and small stains to outer edges of some pages from handling. See photos for condition.
