"For Your Consideration" VHS tapes and DVDs are manufactured by the networks & studios for the sole purpose of distributing them to members of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (who vote for the Emmy's) or the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (who vote for The Oscars) to solicit votes for their TV show/movie nominee. Because they're made in such limited quantities, they are hard to find, highly collectable and sought after by fans. Another reason these FYC copies are rare is because many of them get thrown out after viewing them (if they're watched at all), as they are pretty much thought of as "Hollywood Junk Mail".
