Heavy and well colored Plumbogummite specimen. Rare beautiful blue, green, and yellow crystal from China. The surface is a beautiful blue with more yellowish coloring inside.
According to the fossil era website, Plumbogummite’s name is wonderfully literal and a little odd: plumbo- for lead, and gummite referencing “gummite,” a historic catch-all term miners used for gummy or earthy alteration products (often uranium-related) that looked like sticky coatings or crusts. Plumbogummite doesn’t actually behave like chewing gum, but its common habits—waxy, botryoidal, earthy crusts—make the name feel oddly appropriate.
Measures 1.66” x 1.00” x 0.70” and weighs 56g - quite heavy for its size. Not perfect but overall good aesthetic specimen that are getting harder to find.
