Vintage Jeannette jadeite refrigerator dish with original lid in the classic opaque green uranium glass. This rectangular storage container features the smooth, milky jade-green color that made jadeite a kitchen staple from the 1930s-1950s. The piece has a substantial weight and quality construction typical of Jeannette Glass Company production.
Jeannette Glass Company of Jeannette, Pennsylvania was one of the premier manufacturers of jadeite during the Depression Era and beyond. This refrigerator dish would have been part of a kitchen storage set, designed to stack neatly in refrigerators of the era. The uranium content in the glass gives authentic jadeite its distinctive bright green glow under black light, as shown in photos.
