Hiroshige Taschen XL Book 17 x 13.5 Folio One Hundred Famous Views of Edo 2007

On offer is this wonderful Taschen publication titled Hiroshige: One Hundred Famous Views of Edo. Measuring 17" x 13.5" x 1.5" with 294 pages, this impressive 1st edition book was published in 2007. It features a hard clothbound (silk) folio case that opens to reveal a Japanese string bound, softcover book. This edition is large and heavy, weighing over 9.5 lb. There are beautiful prints of Utagawa Hiroshige's stunning woodblock art with explanations of each illustration in English, German, and French. The book itself is in excellent condition, but there are signs of use to the case; the faux ivory clasps that held the case closed are gone. When the case is open, there is evidence of their removal. There is a small bit of wear to the back of the case. Lastly, there's a small tear at the top of the reverse of the cover page. Since each page is double folded, the tear is not visible when viewing the cover page.
