The marriage between Misery, daughter of the Nest’s most formidable Vampyre, and Lowe, Alpha of his Were pack, is a calculated union, convenient for both their kinds. But Misery had her own agenda. Ana’s hybrid existence threatens this carefully constructed division, as does Serena, who turns out to be a hybrid herself. This is the real reason for her abduction, an act committed by Misery’s father, when Serena began investigating Ana’s parentage.
