Beautiful vintage cut crystal casket

A finely cut crystal lidded jar of cylindrical form, made in Germany The Byrdes Collection by Hofbauer. Richly decorated with diamond-cut fields, fan motifs, and a central oval reserve enclosing a bird in relief. The crystal body is encircled by a gilt brass band forming a hinged lid mount, the interior and base cut with radiating starburst patterns that reflect the light with clarity and brilliance.
The jar is substantial and well balanced, combining crisp crystal cutting with warm gilt metal accents. The brass mount shows light surface wear consistent with age and handling, while the crystal remains clear and bright. No chips or cracks were observed.
